CUUC 2011
Many many thanks to all those who participated, volunteered and came to offer sideline support at the tournament this year. Without you it wouldn't have been possible to have such a successful tournament. Mother nature tried her best to disrupt us, but the enduring spirit and will of the ultimate players and community kept the games going.
Congrats to the spirit winners at CUUC 2011: Lakehead women and McGill A open. Your spirit and enthusiasm for the game warmed even the coldest days of the weekend. Please never lose that zest for the game, and pass it on to as many players and teams as possible.
Congrats also go to the Queens U women for their win over UWO in a thrilling finals match-up, and to the Manitoba Open team for a clinical win over Queens A in the open final. Both games were are true testament to the strength and resolve of players in the university series.
Locals teams also represented well the UW/WLU women's team beat seed and showed they're a force for future CUUCs, and the UW and WLU open teams both beat seed with UW finishing 5th and WLU at 11th. Congrats to the host teams for a good showing and a strong tournament.

Un grand merci à tous ceux qui ont participé, se sont portés volontaire et sont venus offrir un soutien aux lignes de touche au tournoi cette année. Sans vous, il n'aurait pas été possible d'avoir un tel tournoi réussi. La mère nature a essayé de son mieux pour nous perturber, mais l'esprit d'endurance et de volonté des joueurs d’ultimate et de la communauté ont gardé les jeux en cours.
Félicitations aux gagnants de l’Esprit Du Jeu de CUUC 2011: Lakehead Femmes et McGill A Open. Votre esprit et enthousiasme pour le jeu, ont même réchauffé les jours les plus froids du weekend. Ne perdez jamais ce zeste pour le jeu, et transmettez-le à autant de joueurs et d'équipes que possible.
Félicitations également aux Queens Femmes pour leur victoire sur l'UWO dans une finale palpitante, et à l’équipe Manitoba Open pour une victoire clinique sur Queens A lors de la finale Open. Les deux jeux ont été un véritable témoignage de la force et de la détermination des joueurs des séries universitaires.
Les équipes locales ont également bien réussi: l’équipe UW / WLU Femmes a battu son classement et a montré que ses joueuses sont une force pour les CUUCs à venir, et les équipes Open d’UW et de WLU ont battu leur classement, ayant UW terminant en 5ème et WLU en 11ème. Félicitations aux équipes d'accueil pour une bonne performance et un tournoi fort.

Given the cool weather over the CUUC weekend, less field food was eaten than anticipated. In light of this, the left over field fruit was donated to the Ray of Hope Community Centre in Kitchener, Ontario. 8 cases of apples and 1 case of bananas were donated on behalf of the Ultimate community. The fruit will go to make a difference in the lives of many underprivileged members of our community.
